As the heir to the Malfoy line and proof that both French and British wizards could, in deed, produce a worthy child, the blonde child became the center of their lives. As a young child Lucius showed small signs of magical ability. Toys would be lost, but somehow would reappear in his hands. Like most children, these feats went unnoticed by his parents. However, very little time was spent for play. Abraxas had made it a personal mission to sculpt his heir into the perfect gentleman, to the point that his first words were “please” and “thank you”. By age five, Lucius had learned all there was to know about the social graces of required for society men. Through out his childhood, his parents tried their best conceive a second child. Most notably, on Lucius sixth birthday, Isabelle had a miscarriage. At that time, medi-witches did not posses the knowledge that they do today, so it took hours to stop the bleeding. Finally, they warned her not to become pregnant again, because she would certainly die. Abraxas refused to heed the warning and nearly a year later Lucius was expecting a sibling. However, the medi-witches were right and Isabelle died in labor -- neither the child nor his mother survived. Unable to deal with his grief, Abraxas went into madness. He often muttered how Isabelle had been poisoned by mudbloods or muggles and how they were the true reason that she was no longer alive. As a child of seven, these words rubbed off on Lucius. He internalized them into a virulent hatred for anything or anyone with less than pure blood. At age eleven, Lucius boarded the train to Hogwarts. Like every member of the Malfoy family “since the time of Salazar Slytherin himself” [according to his grandmother], he was sorted into Slytherin. There he made many friends, from the Blacks, to the Lestranges, to the Yaxleys, and the Carrows. Unlike most of his students, Lucius cared very little about his studies. He received average marks in most classes, except for transfiguration, charms, and potions which seemed to pique his interest. After graduation, Lucius found himself in the company of the Dark Lord. He took the mark and followed obediently until the end of the First War. When his leader was defeated, Malfoy did everything in his power to disassociate himself from the Death Eaters. He managed to use his family connections to get him a nice cover job. At the same time, Lucius married Narcissa Black and began to build a family. For the next twenty-years, Lucius worked within the Ministry on the Committee for the Disposal of Magical Creatures. He was able to parlay his success to gain a position on the Board of Governors of Hogwarts, which would be influential for his son, Draco. As Draco got older, Lucius worked less and less to spend more time with his family. He did not need the money, after all. At last Draco left for Hogwarts and the Dark Lord returned. Malfoy went to his side and served him faithfully, to the point that he spent time in Azkaban. The Second War came and went. The Malfoys were disgraced, but money heals all reputations. After throwing some money into various projects, the family name was restored slightly. Then came the muggle threat and it all changed… Personality: Lucius loves to be the center of attention. To do this, he is extremely extraverted, but unlike most he is very careful with his words, because Malfoy uses them to get people to love him or to rip them apart. These seemingly contradictory actions seem to happen in close proximity to each other since Lucius gets easily enraged. Although he talks a big game, he has a problem putting the galleons where his mouth is. This is why he tends to have lackeys to do the dirty work for him. Malfoy is extremely loyal and not just to his shallow and self-serving lifestyle. While he will do anything to get himself ahead in life, if someone makes their way into his heart, he will spare no expense – both literally and figuratively – to preserve their happiness. Although he hates to admit it, there is a bit of a romantic beneath the cool and powerful persona. Malfoy romanticizes everything, from love to death. Nothing is without a purpose, although, he has slowly became more cynical as he becomes more involved with Death Eaters. The innocent little world that he grew up in has begun to fade and the lavish world of parties and gossip has led him to become more protected of his heart. Affiliation during the First and/or Second War: Death Eater Appearance: Lucius stands at six feet and is proportional in his weight.. His long blonde tresses have turned white with age, making his silver-blue eyes appear ever so striking against his creamy skin. Malfoy’s hair frames his face in such a way that it reminds an onlooker of his noble birth. Usually, standing perfectly straight, a lesson taught by his father, Lucius is dressed in the finest and most traditional fabrics money can buy. While the Wizarding world has become more casual, even daring the wear jeans, Malfoy dons only robes and other Wizarding garments, which perfectly match his cane. | |||||||||
